Lucky Town, Indeed:
Mar. 9th, 2004 10:55 amAsbury Park residents believe first gay marriage will lead to more.
My coworker Anne notes that she needs to call Kate Mellina about some meeting regarding Asbury Park PL, but she'll say "Hey, if you're too busy performing gay marriages to meet, that's just fine." I believe there was a "You go, girl!" in there somewhere as well.
Now we're trying to think of which Bruce song title best fits this news. We'll get back to you.
--Update--
She points out that the song "I Wanna Marry You" is perhaps the obvious choice. I agree. Or maybe "Lucky Town."

The Toronto trip doesn't leave until Thursday night, which allows me to teach some session 2 classes for English 2 in the morning and noontime and not have to take that day off and leave the dept in the lurch. I mean, if it came to it I wouldn't go on the trip so that I could teach, but I'm so glad I can do both.
In other news, the PacNW is stealing another person away from me. Bastards.
Oh well, one more excuse to visit.

Hey Squid, did you ever find a pattern for the Klein bottle hat for Dave?
I just found an article about the top 11 things you need to be a chemistry librarian, with cool free sites. As I noted to Ben, "I think I just levelled up in my chemistry librarianship character class just by bookmarking those."
The free sites:
NIST Chemistry WebBook, aka your tax dollars at work.
Integrated Spectral Data Base System for Organic Compounds, aka Japan's tax Yen yadda yadda.
And Bruce just handed me the chart of Rejected Elements, which was published in Atlantic Monthly back in '99. Look out for #46, Asparagus (Ap), it's highly toxic....
