What I did with my Saturday...
Aug. 21st, 2004 08:57 pmWatched frightening amounts of Food Network.
Took golden ivy cuttings to root in water, gave the old ivy a good trim, and did various other indoor gardening.
Ran 2 miles very slowly in noon humidity.
Watched lightning, including an impressive ~.5 mile away strike. (At which point we belatedly dived to unplug our computers.)
Heard my roommate say, "You don't even need to ASK!" on the question of fostering a kitten for a semester or more.
Spent twice as much as usual at the grocery, because I was out of so many staples.
Made a successful corn chowder for the first time in my life; recipe to follow.
Started some pizza dough, but I don't think it's coming out right so I might start over.
Watched the last episode of Season 1 of The 4400 (yeah, it's like a 6 episode season), and got even more sick of that damn beach location.
Listened to "Oops I Did It Again" while reading About what would happen to the power grid during a zombie outbreak. I didn't intend things to get QUITE that surreal, but they did.
Called Kara to talk about cats, camping, Olympics, politics and other stuff.
For a day where my goals were to consider myself lucky to run, eat, and get groceries, that's not so bad I guess.
