1. Okay, who put C-4 on my grocery list? (Yeah, it was my roommate, big surprise. I came home yesterday, and there it was: 1. Cupcake papers 2. C-4.)
2. You read my last post about the parasitic wasps and got grossed, right? I was hopping around the office last night when I was reading that stuff. Man, I forgot how awesome biology is! And there are gene therapy implications there! I'm still excited, can you tell?
3. I did my LAST first-year seminar of fall yesterday! And got comments from my boss today, since she observed yesterday! She says I have a good baseline and just need to start using more small group or pairwise activities, and ask them to answer more questions about why they're doing what they're doing. Which was what I figured I needed to do, so that's all good! My boss refers to the end of August thru mid October as 'the greater September area,' because it's the nuttiest time of the year around here. Seriously, September's a big blur to me. I'm just glad it's over... even though now I have a bunch of seriously overdue obligations, like general housekeeping, and presents and notes for various persons, and, um, WRITING MY GAME.

ladybird97 and I figured out today that while we are both tall enough to be NASA mission specialist astronauts, but not pilots, and for either, our eyesight isn't good enough. I'm pretty sure my vision is worse than 20/200 uncorrected (you know, like legally blind, only legally blind is when you're 20/200 WITH correction which is why we can still have driver's licenses), and I found a test online that you can calibrate and do from your screen, which confirms this suspicion. (No surprise, I don't remember the numbers the eye doctor said but I remember them being bigger than 200.) There goes a lifelong dream, man! (Okay, sorta but not really.)
5. Now to see what the vision requirements for the USAF are. Hey B, looks like LASIK and other laser correction makes you ineligible to be a pilot or navigator for them. Yes, this is what I do when I need a break; I research military info! I'm such a nerd.
