In, erm, "honor" of the people I know who are going to weddings this weekend, this morning I started looking at Google results for wedding industry statistics.

I would post some figures about average wedding costs here, but I think it would be too depressing for those of you who are currently planning one or thinking of planning one, and you would kill me. Instead I'll just link to American Wedding Survey, a report of Fairchild Bridal group (publisher of "Brides," "Modern Bride," and "Elegant Bride"), and available via an industry consultant website with the questionable domain name of of sellthebride.com.

That domain name is bending my brain in half. (Dude, start with a high offer, like 15 camels or so, so you can be talked down but still get a good price....)

The site says that during an engagement 8 hours a week are spent planning. I look at that figure and think, "Man, if I spent that much time per week on RPG writing...." That should tell you something about _my_ priorities in life at the moment.

Yeah, okay, boggling over wedding industry concluded, back to work for me. Drat.
