First of all, happy birthday [livejournal.com profile] yaleartificer! Yay!

Second, we have the citation of the day:

Schlosser, M. 1887. Die Affen, Lemuren, Chiropteren, Insectivoren, Marsupialier, Creodonten, und Carnivoren des europäischer Tertiärs. Beit. Pal. Geol. Oesterr.-Ung. 6: 227 pp.

That journal title is "Beiträge zur Paläontologie und Geologie Österreich-Ungarns und des Orients."

[livejournal.com profile] holmes_iv translates it as "Remarks upon the paleontology and geology of Austria-Hungary and the East" and the article title mentions Tertiary Europe and Lemurs, so I'm thinking they're talking about my cousins in Lemurdom! Awesome! (No, I didn't tell this to the person who is looking for the article, and anyway, she's looking for it because of a bat fossil it names.)

Third, I had a pretty good weekend despite working both afternoons. We saw the College production of "Flying Lessons," adapted from the story by Kelly Link, on Saturday night. And the kid who played Humphrey was ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE. It was great. We also ate too much rich food, but I've lost weight since my travel-induced gains last week, so I'm doing better.

I'll do a thanksgiving menu post later, hopefully.

Lo and behold, The good folks at Wikimedia are way ahead of me. It's pretty tiny compared to some other online recipe dbases, and bears some resemblance to RecipeSource, and just click on the one-sided entry on fruitmince for an example of how it needs more contributors to balance it out, sheesh. But it's cute.

We should still build a recipewiki.

Hokay. So, I went to the grocery store tonight, and I was like, whoa! It wasn't picked over completely yet, but it was getting thin. And so I bought the rest of my supplies for Thursday dinner. (Which, incidentally, is always served at 1 or 2 pm in my family, because we are midwesterners or because we are immigrants or something like that.) Anyway.

So, my menu:Read more... )
