An anticlimax
Jun. 3rd, 2008 07:49 pmI thought I was going to have to spend another 40 minutes with the gamma camera today, but instead I got to spend about 3 quality minutes with a thyroid uptake detector. It got pointed at my neck for a minute, then pointed at my thigh for a minute for comparison, and that was _it_.
I'll give my endocrinologist until Thursday afternoon to get back to me and then I'll call and ask what's next. This was really, really, REALLY simple. I know that the medication calibration phase, and the post-radiation phase, will be the interesting parts because it takes a while to see the effects. But still, I'm hopeful.
I also had a meeting with Linda from HR today, which was VERY reassuring, but I won't go into details right now.
And yes, dinner was very good. It took me _forever_ to get through that glass of red wine, though-- amazing wine for the price. I've even started a spreadsheet for a wine journal.
Now I'm kinda sleepy (6 hours of sleep Sunday night, and a 2.5 hour nap last evening and then 4 hours of sleep last night, yes, it's messed up again), and I'm reading about that Atomlab machine and thinking things like "Collimator?!?"
Maybe it's time to crawl into bed and watch the Sox and sleep.
ladybird97, I'm totally serious that if you wanna phone you are free to, I can commiserate or just be silly, your choice.
Wheeeeee. Right now is so much happier than this morning when I was really not liking being at work, and in fact was having some of the nastiest reflux I've had in a long time, without warning. I suppose red wine isn't such a great idea on top of all that, but man, it was gooooooooood....
I'd say I'm awfully intoxicated for having had one glass, but it was a big glass and I haven't had enough sleep. Time to go lay in bed and knit before I say anything sillier, I think.
