SG1 is warping your mind. This in and of itself wouldn't be a bad thing unless one ascribed to the "Sarah became a librarian so she could be a Watcher" theory..... :-p
See what's weird is that the dingbat-scientist-with-way-too-slinky-costumes character on SG1 was the reason I woke up YESTERDAY humming "I've got a theory..." and then spent the day listening to the Buffy Musical.
And I think I discovered Buffy and Giles right after I'd already decided to be a librarian, but if that was your theory, and you want to continue to subscribe to it, feel free. Just don't say it was cuz of Fred, okay?
But yeah, it warped my mind back in November sometime. The effects have been slowly growing. It'll die down eventually, don't worry.
I'm just continuing to mock your lack of sales resistance. "Oooh, that Burger King ad made me hungry." :-p Haven't actually watched enough SG1 to determine what you'd turn into if this were true.
And yes, I do remember that Fred was introduced AFTER you were a librarian. I also seem to remember some show of Librarian solidarity when she got in trouble during her first episode, and some shouting (I don't remember if it was good or bad) about the filing system used in her library. That's perspective you just don't get watching the show with Muggles. ;)
I believe I was expressing disbelief that LA Public used LC call numbers to shelve by. I checked the next day. They do in fact use them. (See, it's a public library, and most of them use Dewey, but it's HUUUUUGE, and HUUUUUGE collections with a lot of stuff not in English can run into probs with Dewey.)
And I still go "oooh, yummy" at all the food commercials. I watch a lot of stuff from tape now, though, and that helps a LOT.
I must admit that SG1 makes me want to get a degree in astrophysics sometimes, and go work for the USAF, but I might just get the stupid dancing pharaohs screensaver and call it even. (And then there's kayaking, but a) it's an actress for SG1, not a character, who reportedly kayaks, and b) I already wanted to take up kayaking ANYWAY.)
By the way, I've also proved I can stop at any time. I'm currently halfway through an episode which I stopped watching last night because there was clearly about to be Death Everywhere, but it was just too late at night for me to deal. Not if I wanted a decent sleep anyway.
Watching the ending will be my reward for surviving work today.
I've got a theory....

I can stop anytime. Really.
