Take the cilantro, leave the zamboni

This daily_russian post just broke my brain. In a good way.

I wish I could say I understood more of it; the Russian is okay, and I understand what the idiom under discussion is for, but some of that French doesn't ring any bells. Which is frustrating, because I read what little French I have far more easily than ANYTHING in Cyrillic, but I just know more Russian.

ewin told me earlier tonight, "We love you. Even the weird parts."

And I found I needed to be told that. I was feeling self-conscious about letting my fandom hang out (and I've been feeling horribly that way off and on all this year), and about discussing gaming dork issues here.

So here goes nuthin: What should I ask my players about their characters to get them developing personalities and peccadilloes? I'm building a file of amusing questions: my favorite so far is "1. What do you eat for breakfast? Any breakfast specialties from home that you miss having?" The answers I've heard so far were really fun.

What else would you ask?

In other news, iTunes has started playing "Tears Are Not Enough" late at night. I think it's trying to send me to bed by disgusting me with sappy music. Though the French verse is kinda cool.

I don't really have a gaming icon separate from my silly fandom icon, but I REALLY think those are two different things. And so I use the lemur. Because it is a spacemonkey, and so am I.
