Take the cilantro, leave the zamboni

Of course the morning I move out of New Jersey would have perfect weather. OF COURSE.

I was watching CNN, and they say the shuttle Discovery's backflip maneuver was a success. I've known about this new thing they were doing for months now, but my brain started comparing it to all those cool maneuvers the Vipers on BSG do (especially when it's Starbuck's Viper, yay for female pilots). I'm imagining Discovery doing wacky high-speed maneuvers now and it's rather amusing, but also disconcerting because shuttles aren't supposed to do that. Anyway, yay for Commander Collins; the woman reportedly won't go down big waterpark slides with her kids, but she can fly that shuttle like nobody's business.

Anyway, I'm signing off for now (I'll be offline until Friday night or Saturday I suspect) and packing up my equipment. The final electricity and water bills are paid, and the fridge is shut off. The cooler is full of water bottles and some yogurt. The airbed is deflated, I just have to wrestle it back into the box. I should be ready to ask Sharon up here to check me out by 10 or 10:30.

Man, why is New Jersey treating me to such gorgeous weather?

Arrived.

Took A VERY LONG TIME and involved INADVERTENT DETOUR INTO DOWNTOWN EFFING HARTFORD because I was trying to get around massive accidents on 84 East.

Yes J I know, I will take 15 from now on.

Anyway. I got lost in Hartford and then had to get on 91 South because the other options were all closed off because of accidents, so I ended up just south of Hartford, taking a break at a random convenience store so I could get off the road, let the cat stretch his legs a bit, and just sit down and cry for a while. MAN that traffic was awful. I also had a root beer and a Kitkat to get my blood sugar back up.

Then it was back onto 91 in the other direction, and the rest of the trip was smooth sailing.

My carload of stuff is unloaded. Some of it is in cabinets. The cat likes where his litterbox is.

I'm still having a horrible fit of what-am-i-doing here but dinner and a trip up Mt Tom with jadefu has improved things muchly.

Now to get a few groceries, and go home and go to bed. I think I'll watch Totoro or something tonight.
