Aug. 1st, 2005 08:09 pmHaving no home is no fun.
I technically have a home, and as of today, I have a whole lot of paperwork saying I have a home. But I find myself wanting something familiar and comfortable (I'm so sick of having an air mattress and a folding chair when I want my bed and my own desk), wanting a town where I don't feel like a stranger, and wanting to be where I know more people. Then I realize again how happy I was to ditch Madison, and how happy I am to have white plates with red lettering instead of goldenrod plates with black lettering. But it's not filling the lonely space.
You would think that with as many errands as I had today, I'd feel a sense of accomplishment. ( Today's chore list. )
Actually, reminding myself that I learned how to weigh yarn today, learned SSK and k2tog, officially became a Masshole driver and got a library card along with a lot of other chores, that helps. Oooh, and I need to get home and put more boxes away before the movers come, cuz there's not quite enough floor space for stuff to come off the truck. Joy!
Maybe 2 hours in air conditioning helped, too. Real food would help more; I gotta go to the store again. Tomorrow.
It's lonely. But it's about to get better. I'll keep telling myself that; reinforce the message, k?
