Sure it's meaningful—it's unclear, however, whether this is a single-yard experiment with replacement (and, we assume, a negative control, since it's possible some boys would be brought to the yard simply by the weather or the conditions inside) or a two-yard competitive boy-bringing experiment. Given the overwhelming preference shown, it seems probable that both experiments would produce similar results, but for completeness, the authors should consider running both and comparing the results.

In the case of the single-yard experiment, multiple trials should also be run with varying milkshake orders, to avoid satiation effects.

Okay, "flatter" and "unjustly" combined in my peripheral vision to spell "flatulently."

It could be worse. That milkshake could have brought 120 percent of the boys out. And then where would we be?

Drowning in boys, I guess. Which isn't so bad, if you like that sort of thing. (I prefer a mixed crowd, though.)

would it not be simpler to say "they bought my milkshakes but not yours. nyah nyah nyah." rather than chart it?? --bewildered me

This should help with your bewilderment, at least a little.

My sister's boyfriend likes to sing it. A lot. She has of course sent him a link to the chart.
