I have a friend (nezumiko) who has rats, including a pair of blue-hooded. Generally all sweet and adorable and stuff. They do pee all over the place, and if you have two rats who don't like each other, one of them may end up biting your hand (accidentally) as you attempt to separate them.
(This has happened to nezumiko twice. She ended up at the local emergency room both times, though that's largely 'cuz she's got a compromised immune system.)
Well, the ones I found on Petfinder were male siblings, and that would work okay. And the women of the SR Treehouse seem to manage okay with Sarge, though I will grant you that Sarge is so old at this point that he's the quiet lap-rat now, not so much with the wandering all over the place.
