Y'know, I'm adventurous about some things, but not others. I think this is going to be amusing.

Roadkill --See #1, but this is because the state of Ohio sees no reason not to let a motorist take home a dear he has hit, because if you're not in your right mind and hit it deliberately, they'll be booking you anyway, and why waste a huge amount of game meat? The game warden also has the right to let another have the deer if the motorist doesn't want it. So it's not roadkill in the "has tire tracks on it" sense.

51 of 100 isn't too bad! I wish this list had included things like teff, kvass, and boudin!

I was hesitant to take this meme because it's the sort of thing that makes me think "Oh, I grew up in the country with little money, my results will be silly compared to those of my friends who grew up in cities and with more money."

Nope! I think Yale has provided the leveling factor. But I also think I'm willing to try stuff, and that makes me happy.

Didn't [livejournal.com profile] jadefu and I bring some wine that kinda tasted like apple pie? Or is my brain so addled that I forgot which party at whose house we brought that to?

Now that you mention it, I _do_ think that was at that party. But there was too much going on for me to really store a memory of it. Clearly I need to try that wine again!

I, too, am a bad slav of the borscht-hating variety. I occasionally like cold beets as part of salads, but I can't stand them hot or pureed.

On the other hand, I love eel, at least in the Japanese preparations. They broil it with a sweet soy sauce that really complements and brings out the flavor.

What it gave was more details about EXACTLY the reason you said I would adore Garibaldi! :)

I was ::tricked:: into eating fois gras the other day.

Who makes fois gras french fries? Stupid [employer].

(And yes, I realize what a mark of privilege that complaint is. Also the "if you put in too much truffle oil you can't taste the wild mushrooms in the risotto" complaint.)

Yes, but even if it's a privileged complaint, who the hell makes fois gras french fries? WTF?
