"Patterns of female dominance in lemurs"

That's a real sample topic for the classes I'll be working with the week after next. I like it!

Edit: That reminds me; I've bought the rename token and pretty much figured that the new name will have something to do with lemurs. Expect a username changeover some time soon; you should all stay linked to me as far as I know, though I think some of you who use certain clients will still have links that make reference to my old username. They'll redirect to the new one, though. (I just tested this on [livejournal.com profile] heinousbitca's old name.) Any other subtleties I should know about? Tell me.

It's hard to get work done on your biology class prep when you have distractions like:

-Arranging swaps of hours so that you can take next Friday off as comp
-Getting the comp day okayed by boss
-Getting the Colors of Chemistry calendar for 2006
-Getting my name into a bioinformatics grant (and getting that okayed by boss)
-Buying a rename token (okay so that didn't have to be done now)
-Cursing because the ppt file I need is at home
-People going OMG about the Blackboard/WebCT merger (we use WebCT)

Also: last night I dreamed I'd somehow taken a train from some town called Mountain View (which does not exist but if it did would be just south of Easthampton), to New Haven, and when trying to return, found NO trains to Western Mass at all now, and a bus that took me to the next town south of Mountain View, meaning I'd have to hike to where I parked my car, and it was dark, and I had no map, or something weird like that. Sucked, but I woke up and said "Hey, this is a dream? What the hell is with these dreams? They're annoying," and went back to sleep.

This was better than the preceeding night, when I had an "Augh we're running from zombies, damn, one of them just caught up to me, hey, this is going nowhere good, put me out of my misery cuz being eaten by zombies is no fun, *BLAM BLAM*" dream. Seriously. I don't know who I was with but they agreed to take me out with a shotgun when it seemed I was about 2 seconds from being eaten. Whoever you are, er, I suppose I should thank you, but can we work on PREVENTING the zombies next time? Sheesh. [livejournal.com profile] yaleartificer says we need a zombie contingency plan. And I agree, but he wasn't there. Of _course_ not. Stupid dream. Stupid zombies. Stupid whatever it was that inspired the dream, cuz I know what it was and I can see how it inspired such a stupid, STUPID dream. I'm going to go see "Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit" this weekend, because THAT won't give me nightmares.

Now I'm just making my own procrastination. Back to work!

So I had this moment on the way home.

I was listening to the radio, and a song came on that made me say, "If that song is _not_ played for us to dance to at [livejournal.com profile] havenstone's wedding, I will be sad." Cuz [livejournal.com profile] havenstone loves his music to dance to, and this song I identify with him, more than any other.

Wanna guess what it was? Have at it. Wanna say which song _you_ would have said that about? Have at it. Don't know him and want to guess anyway? Have at it, what the hell.

Oh, and off topic: eye doctor visit was fine, I ordered new GPs through her for fitting, and I got a scrip for new glasses. And driving with dilated pupils was a bit fuzzy, but I fed Sienna and hung out a bit and then went home, and it was cool. Lack of sunshine helped. Yay.

So guess away!

UPDATE: Melissa N-H mailed me with her guess, which turned out to be correct! It was "Tubthumping" by Chumbawumba. She says that last hint was more than enough. Yay!
